Exeter player charged with sexual assault

Exeter Chiefs scrum-half Nikola Matawalu has been charged with sexual assault and has appeared in court.

The 30-cap Fiji international has reportedly been charged for sexually assaulting a woman at a pub in Exeter on December 3 according to the BBC.

Matawalu appeared at Taunton Crown Court and has pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was given bail and will be tried in court on August 10.

The scrum-half represented Glasgow Warriors 74 times, before joining Bath for a season and then was signed by Exeter Chiefs in November.
