Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Tom Curry have both been ruled out of this weekend's clash with the Springboks

England duo Tom Curry and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso have both been ruled out of England’s clash with South Africa next weekend, with Ted Hill and Tom Roebuck drafted into Steve Borthwick’s squad.

The pair both sustained head knocks in the 42-37 defeat to Australia yesterday, and will not be available for at least seven days.

Flanker Curry and wing Feyi-Waboso have started both of England’s Tests this Autumn, however, it now opens up a chance for the likes of Sam Underhill, Ted Hill, Alex Dombrandt, Ollie Sleightholme or Tom Roebuck to come into the side in their place.

Hill and Roebuck have also both been involved with England squad during the Autumn Nations Series but were both released. They were also named in the England A squad to face Australia XV on 17th November.

Speaking to the media after the game, England boss Steve Borthwick confirmed Curry would not be available this weekend, after picking up his second head knock in just seven weeks.

David Campese: Wallabies have ‘turned a corner’ with ‘fearless’ victory over England

“I’ll be waiting for the full medical report and understand where everyone is at, but I think everyone saw the way Tom was down and he won’t be available next week.”

“I don’t have a report on Manny,” Borthwick continued. “But it didn’t look good.”

England head into the clash with the back-to-back World Champions off the back of four successive defeats, and also lost their last encounter with the Springboks in last year’s World Cup semi-final.
