England head coach Steve Borthwick has named 10 uncapped players among his 36-man squad to tour the Americas this summer.

Borthwick’s side will play a two-Test series against Argentina, before going on to face the USA.

Experienced duo Jamie George and George Ford have been named as co-captains for the upcoming tour, with Sale fly-half Ford in line to win his 100th cap in the process. The former has also previously served as England captain, but had the mantle taken away at the start of the Six Nations.

With 14 of his regular squad away with the British and Irish Lions this summer, Borthwick has rewarded Premiership form with Gloucester trio Seb Atkinson, Arthur Clark and Charlie Atkinson, Northampton Saints prop Emmanuel Iyogun, Bath men Will Muir, Guy Pepper and Max Ojomoh, Sale Sharks full-back Joe Carpenter and Harlequins backs Luke Northmore and Oscar Beard the uncapped players within the squad.

Elsewhere, Quins pair Cadan Murley and Alex Dombrandt have made their respective returns to the senior England squad, with Murley picking up an injury following his debut in the Six Nations, while Dombrandt missed the Championship entirely through injury.

Another injury returner is Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, who has also been included in the touring party despite being suspended for the two Tests against Argentina following his red card against France XV on Saturday. Sam Underhill is also primed to mark his return from suspension this summer after being named.

Ben Curry is also a welcome inclusion within the squad, after overcoming an injury concern.

Joe Batley, Fraser Dingwall, George Furbank, Ollie Lawrence, Alex Lozowski, George Martin and Ollie Sleightholme were also not considered for selection due to injury.

Commenting on his selection, Borthwick said: “The three-Test series is a huge challenge and a valuable opportunity for the continued development of this squad.”

“For some of the younger players, this will be their first experience of touring overseas with England. Travelling together helps strengthen team bonds and offers a valuable chance for new players to integrate into our environment.
