England stalwart with a ‘wealth of experience’ makes decision on future

Joe Launchbury re-signs for Quins
Harlequins have confirmed the re-signing of 70-cap England international, Joe Launchbury.
The former Wasps star has said he is “thrilled” to be extending his contract with the west-London side after arriving from Toyota Verblitz in 2023.
Launchbury only spent a short term in Japan following Wasps’ financial demise as the now 34-year-old was keen to get back into top flight English rugby.
Launchbury thrilled
“I’m thrilled to have extended my contract with Quins,” said Launchbury. “I have really enjoyed representing this famous club with such a rich history in the game.
“We’ve got an incredibly determined group of players and staff at the club and so much potential in this group. I am excited to be a part of that journey, helping the squad in any way I can. I look forward to playing in front of our amazing fans again next season at The Stoop.”

During his time at Harlequins, Launchbury has become as effective off the pitch as he is on it, becoming a mentor to the younger players in the squad.
Harlequins head coach Danny Wilson noted: “Joe has a wealth of experience at the elite level of the game, which is invaluable in any team environment both on and off the pitch. He’ll continue to serve as great mentor to our younger players.
“When called upon this season he’s continued to perform at a high-level and his leadership qualities have shone through. We’re delighted Joe will remain at The Stoop for the 2025/26 season.”
Harlequins continue to retain players
Harlequins have also retained the services of hooker Jack Musk and loosehead prop Jordan Els.
“I’m really pleased to be staying in the Quarters. This is the club that gave me my professional debut which makes it a special place,” said Musk.
“With so much experience in the playing group and the coaching staff, I feel like I can really continue to develop over the coming seasons.”
Els added: “I’ve loved my time at Quins so far and I’m excited to be extending my contract into next season.
“This is a really ambitious group of players and coaches, and I know that there is a real desire to achieve something special in the years to come.”
