England's Henry Arundell scores against Chile.

Following England’s stunning 71-0 demolition of Chile in their Rugby World Cup clash, here are the player ratings for the Red Rose.

Star backs

15 Marcus Smith: Started the game with a couple of errors on attack but matured beautifully in the full-back berth. Smith flourished in a second playmaker role which allowed him to attack with great freedom. Two tries and a try assist highlight a stunning showing. 9

14 Henry Arundell: Prolific personified. The youngster absolutely sparkled for England, equalling the record for most tries in a World Cup game for his country, crossing the line FIVE times. It was a perfect day for the superstar who scored everything from walk-ins to well-executed chips and chases. Historic day for the wing. 10

13 Elliot Daly: A nice hit out for the versatile back. The team used his strong left boot well for exits and he also set up one of Arundell’s tries with a clever grubber in behind. Added balance to the backline and will be pleased with his efforts. 8

12 Ollie Lawrence: Ran hard with ball in hand and defended like a warrior throughout. Another good shift, beating a whopping eight defenders, for the Englishman who is yet to disappoint for the Red Rose. 8

11 Max Malins: At times looked out of sorts during the match but for the most part handled himself well throughout the game. Outshone by the other backs in his side. 6

10 Owen Farrell: The returning skipper showed his absolute class in this one by grabbing hold of the game after a slow start. His floated ball out wide for Arundell’s first was a joy to watch. He was involved in most of the tries with some lovely touches. Kicked well tactically and decently for posts. A strong return for the veteran. 9

9 Danny Care: His vast experience showed in a busy outing where he did very little wrong. The scrum-half had one try assist and kicked well when required. Care also controlled the tempo of the game well in a solid effort. 8

Power forwards

8 Billy Vunipola: The physicality of the returning number eight was welcomed by the England pack as they used him as a battering ram when required. Vunipola also defended well in a good showing. 7

7 Jack Willis: Scored a try late on as a fair reward for a workmanlike outing on both sides of the ball. However, the true difference was made on defence where he made 18 tackles without missing any. Outstanding. 8

6 Lewis Ludlam: A busy outing with some well-timed interventions at the breakdown whilst contributing solidly with ball in hand. Was a key component of the battering England delivered through their forward pack. 7

5 George Martin: The second-row went about his business quite nicely in a neat performance. Made a significant contribution on defence with 10 tackles on the day. 7

4 David Ribbans: There were some brutal hits from Ribbans who was busy like his second-row partner. He was solid in the line-out and carried fairly well in a great performance. 8

3 Kyle Sinckler: An absolute rock in the scrum giving his team dominance there and some penalties to work with. He had already earned his money in the set-piece but carried hard to match. 8

2 Theo Dan: The hooker channelled his inner fly-half with a stunning ball over the top for Arundell to walk in. Then he scored a brace of his own in a lovely outing. Dan was a joy to watch and there is not much better than seeing him let loose. 9

1 Bevan Rodd: Scored a delightful try as a reward for a strong scrummaging effort not to mention the seven tackles made on defence. Top from the front-row. 8

Replacements: The bench added further to the attacking impetus which was great to see but not as good as Will Stuart’s delightful little ball to play Willis. 8
