Dunbar back for Scotland

Scotland Head Coach Vern Cotter has added three Glasgow Warriors players to his squad for this Sunday's Six Nations match against France at Murrayfield.

Centre Alex Dunbar, scrum-half Henry Pyrgos and hooker Fraser Brown have all recovered from injuries in the past fortnight to earn selection in the squad that will convene at the national stadium in Edinburgh tomorrow.

Dunbar was part of the original group named ahead of the championship however a posterior thigh strain sustained against Racing in the Champions Cup kept him out of contention.

Since returning to fitness Dunbar has played in his club’s PRO12 wins over Dragons and Cardiff Blues, scoring on his return in Newport.

Brown and Pyrgos were both part of Scotland’s World Cup campaign – the latter captaining the side against USA – however respective ankle and wrist injuries ruled them out of the early part of the Six Nations campaign.

Like Dunbar, Brown – who takes the place of Edinburgh hooker George Turner – made his comeback against the Dragons and Cardiff, while Pyrgos played his first game in over five months when he started on Sunday.

Matt Scott injury:

Edinburgh and Scotland centre Matt Scott will have a MRI scan at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital on Monday to assess the extent of the damage sustained to his elbow in his club’s match against Connacht on Friday.
