Deysel out for up to six weeks

The Sharks received some mixed squad news on Tuesday as Jean Deysel's ankle injury was cushioned by the return of Frans Steyn and JP Pietersen.

Powerful back-row forward Deysel will undergo a small procedure on his ankle and is expected to be out of Super Rugby action for between four and six weeks.

Meanwhile, centre Steyn and wing Pietersen were present at training on Monday as they return from club rugby in Japan. Both players are available.

Back-row Willem Alberts is now fit to feature, if required, against the Stormers at Newlands while loosehead Tendai Mtawarira is also in the frame to return.
