Deadline set as Worcester confirm the ‘record-breaking’ number of season tickets sold after three-year rugby absence

Worcester Warriors have revealed the record number of season tickets sold seven weeks before their October 4th rebirth in the opening round of The Championship.

It was April 3rd this year when the RFU confirmed that the Warriors would participate in the remodelled second tier of English rugby after three years on the shelf.

A September 2022 win over Newcastle at Sixways was the final time they took the pitch in the Premiership before their liquidation.

An estimated crowd of 4,999 attended the last rites, but the club is now set to surpass that figure in season ticket sales, even though they are returning to the pitch as a second division outfit.

“Once they’re gone, they’re gone…”

Posting on social media, Worcester explained that fans had until this Sunday to buy a season ticket for the 2025/26 campaign and revealed the incredibly healthy number of tickets already bought by fans keen to support Matt Everard’s newly built squad.

“Final call for Warriors rugby season tickets,” began the message. “4,600+ sold and sales close midnight Sunday, 17 August. After that, it’s match-by-match only (bundles later in the season). Once they’re gone, they’re gone.”

Worcester will open their league campaign at home to Coventry on the first weekend of October. However, two weeks before that new beginning, they will host Premiership champions Bath in a pre-season friendly at Sixways on September 20.

That date is nearly three years to the very day that they played their final top-flight match before the RFU suspension ended that season with a thud.

The Warriors enjoyed record sales last May when 2025/26 season tickets were first put on sale to supporters who had bought season tickets when they were in the Premiership.

Worcester, whose first pre-season outing is a September 13th trip to Ampthill on the weekend before they host Bath, also have an open training session planned at Sixways next Wednesday, to further ramp up the interest in their rugby return.
