Davies hails Scarlets attitude

In-form Scarlets openside flanker James Davies believes his side's attitude in defence has been a key factor in their superb start to the season.

The former Wales Sevens player, who only made his debut for the region in September 2014, has been a revelation at the PRO12 side ever since.

Scarlets are currently five wins from five in 2015/16 and the impressive Davies has been a major reason for their success, as he picked up another man-of-the-match award in the recent win over Munster after making 18 tackles. He admitted their 100 percent record is pleasing.

"We're happy with the results so far. We're another year together, the boys are more experienced and making sure we come out with results," he told the Scarlets.

"I don't think there's one thing in particular. The attitude has been fantastic in defence and this has been a massive factor in us getting the results."

Scarlets take on the Dragons at Parc y Scarlets this Friday and Davies is keen for his team not to get ahead of themselves ahead of kick-off.

"You could say we're favourites but it's a derby at the end of the day," he added.

"They've got quality players coming back in like we have. We're unfortunate that we've picked up injuries to two of our best players in Scott (Williams) and Sanj (Liam Williams).

"We have to keep going with squad we've got, which is still very good.

"They're going to be a tough challenge for us this Friday, we'll have to prepare well and put a performance in. It'll come down to what happens on the night, hopefully we'll get the win."
