Jamie Cudmore has been included in Canada's preliminary World Cup squad after recovering from concussion issues.

The veteran lock was named in the 35-man squad by Kieran Crowley, despite playing no part in the Pacific Nations Cup.

Instead he had been training with his club Clermont, while undergoing tests after missing the closing stages of last season with a series of head injuries, but he has now been cleared to play.

Tyler Ardron will captain the side, while there are also returns for injured trio Taylor Paris, Jebb Sinclair and Jason Marshall, who all missed the PNC.

There is no place in the squad for James Pritchard however, the veteran full-back was hoping to feature in his fourth World Cup, but has been left out of the squad.

Canada have four more games before the World Cup gets underway, with matches against USA, Glasgow, Georgia and Fiji.
