Worcester Warriors hooker Agustin Creevy has been appointed as Argentina's captain for the upcoming Rugby Championship.

Creevy, who has represented los Pumas in 28 Tests, expressed his delight with his appointment.

“This is an immense joy,” he told the Argentina Rugby Union's official website.

I did not expect this as there are many other players with important qualities.

“I receive it with great honour and I hope to keep guiding our players.”

Creevy joined Warriors from Montpellier in the summer of 2013 and scored a try on his debut for the Sixways-based club against Sale in the Amlin Cup in October.

The 29-year-old former Biarritz, Clermont and Montpellier player represented the Jaguars and Pampas XV, where he also had a stint as captain.
