Clermont extensions for France duo

Clermont have signed up two key players to extensions with new deals for France pair Vincent Debaty and Noa Nakaitaci at the Stade Marcel Michelin.

Loosehead prop Debaty is tied to the club through to 2017 with an option for an extra year, while winger Nakaitaci has signed for an extra year until 2018.

“To maintain our ambition for the next few seasons, the best recruitment is keeping your best players,” said sporting director Jean-Marc Lhermet.

“Vincent and Noa have both taken a step up over the last few seasons and fit into this category.”

The pair combined in France’s last game of the Six Nations for a magnificent length of the field try against England for the prop.

“I’m very pleased to be able to extend my deal here at Clermont, where the club has been able to help me lift my level and where I’ve been able to play in front of a packed stadium,” said Debaty.

“I’m delighted and very proud to extend my commitment to Clermont,” said Nakaitaci.

“This is where I’ve built my rugby and my life, where I’ve progressed and taken the chance I’ve been given."
