Brive wing Mafi out for months

Brive have reportedly begun searching for a medical joker to replace injured winger Alfi Mafi ahead of next season.

The dangerous back has been ruled out for around four months ahead of shoulder surgery later this week.

Mafi, 28, previously played for the Waratahs, Brumbies and Force before heading to France to join Brive back in 2013.

As a result of Mafi's setback, Brive's search for a medical joker could focus on former La Rochelle and Waratahs back Alofa Alofa, according to a report from La Montagne.

Brive finished the 2015/2016 season comfortably in eighth place.
