Bath have suffered a double blow with the news that fly-half Dan Bowden and scrum-half Niko Matawalu were ruled out with season-ending injuries.

Matawalu damaged knee ligaments against Newcastle on January 4 before it flared up again against Worcester last month and Bowden injured his shoulder against Gloucester at the Rec on February 5.

According to a Bath Chronicle report, both players will have surgery on their respective injuries.

Meanwhile, it has been revaeld that second-row forward Dominic Day didn’t suffer concussion after a clash of heads against London Irish last weekend.

Day is in training with Wales but will be available for Bath’s clash with Harlequins at the Stoop on Friday.
