‘Argentina to stay amongst world’s best’ – Creevy

Argentina captain and hooker Agustin Creevy is confident his country will keep their place amongst the elite of Test rugby despite their failure to reach the Rugby World Cup Final.

Los Pumas suffered a 29-15 semi-final defeat to Australia on Sunday and although Creevy admitted that his side's players were very sad, he predicted the team would continue to impress at Test level.

"It's a very good starting point," he said.

"I feel very happy that rugby is progressing in Argentina and there are beautiful things ahead.

"The team is here to stay and will carry on playing to coach Daniel Hourcade's plan: his offensive game.

"That's the way to stay at the top of the world game."

Argentina have shown steady improvement since joining the Rugby Championship in 2012 and were surprise semi-finalists at the World Cup alongside southern hemisphere powerhouses New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.
