2025 Māori All Blacks kit unveiled and where to buy it

The Māori All Blacks have revealed a new shirt that will be worn for the first time when they take on Japan on June 28.
Adidas has opened pre-orders for the shirt and it will be worn for the Māori All Blacks’ two games against Japan and Scotland, with the squad for both fixtures also announced alongside the new-look kit.

The kit was designed by contemporary Māori artist and Haka composer, Kahurangi Falaoa, and is called Te Tauihu Matua by the creator of the design.
He said: “This is inspired by the figurehead that stands above the Tētēkura and is in reference to a well-known saying by Api Mahuika about standing at the bow of your canoe to feel the spray of the future biting at your face, which speaks to leadership. Matua as a stative however, also means ‘main, primary, chief’.
“Together, Te Tauihu Matua becomes The Chiefly Bow. To stand with courage and face the challenges that lay ahead.”

The design is deeply embedded in Māori culture and includes a design featuring a waka taua, a traditional Māori war canoe, plus the Tētēkura – the figurehead of the waka. It also features two manaia representing the two atua (gods): Tū, god of war and humanity, and Rongo, god of peace.
Falaoa is no stranger to rugby in New Zealand. He is an active contributor to the Māori Rugby Programme, he has also composed the U20s Haka with the input of players and management of the time,
The shirt will be worn when the Māori All Blacks take on Japan on June 28 and Scotland on July 5 in Whangārei.
Fans will also be able to buy the Adidas shirt from the official Adidas website, here. Pre orders are open for the shirt, which is priced at £76 or NZD 170. If you are ordering from the UK the item will be shipped on July 6, according to the Adidas website.
