New Worcester contract for centre Ashley Beck

Wales international centre Ashley Beck has become the 12th current Worcester player to commit his future to the club by signing a new deal.

Beck arrived at Sixways from Ospreys in the summer of 2018 on an initial two-year deal and has now signed an extension until the end of the 2021/22 season.

“It was a really easy decision to sign an extension because I really enjoy it here,” Beck said.

“We have a fantastic squad, I really like the boys and everything about the club. As a family we are settled here and we are very happy.

“The ambition of the club is to be a top six Premiership side and I want to be part of helping the club to achieve that goal.

“It’s a very positive environment and it’s a good place to be at the moment.”

Beck, 29, missed the majority of his first season with the Warriors after he suffered a broken ankle in the Challenge Cup victory over Stade Francais in Paris but, having regained fitness, he has become a midfield talisman this season.

“Ash is a class player and but for injuries would have played many more Tests for Wales,” said Warriors director of rugby Alan Solomons.

“He has an excellent rugby brain, great skills and the physique to make his presence felt in the midfield.

“He is also a fantastic bloke, great team man and one of the most popular players at the club.

“It is terrific news that he has decided to extend his stay here with us at Sixways. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and I look forward to continuing my association with him.”
