Murphy favourite for Cardiff Blues head coach role

Leicester Tigers’ Geordan Murphy looks set to take over as head coach at the Cardiff Blues, according to reports.

Wales Online have claimed that the former Ireland international is favourite to replace the outgoing Danny Wilson for the start of the 2018/19 season.

Wilson has been in the role for three years but announced in September his intention to quit at the end of the current campaign.

Should Murphy be confirmed as the Blues’ new boss, it would end a 20-year association with Tigers, firstly as an accomplished full-back and then as a coach.
