May, Slater set for swap deal

England wing Jonny May is poised to join Leicester Tigers from Gloucester in a deal which would see Ed Slater move the other way.

According to BBC Radio Leicester, a deal is set to be finalised following medicals.

May still has a year left on his contract, with Leicester expected to have to fork out extra for the deal as they look to bolster their wing options following the departures of Peter Betham and JP Pietersen.

Slater, 29, who is primarily a lock, is a former Tigers captain but unfortunately has had his career plagued by injuries of late.

May, 27, made his international debut against Argentina in June 2013 and has made 27 appearances for England, scoring nine tries.

He scored a try for Gloucester in their European Challenge Cup final defeat by Stade Français in May.
