Hurricanes scrum-half Alby Mathewson will not face the Stormers in Round Ten of the Super 14 after he was rushed home from South Africa to be with his ill father.

Hurricanes scrum-half Alby Mathewson will not face the Stormers in Round Ten of the Super 14 after he was rushed home from South Africa to be with his ill father.

He has been replaced by Taranaki's Brett Goodin.

Goodin, a New Zealand Under-19 representative in 2004, is a member of the Hurricanes wider training group.

He is due to arrive in Cape Town on Thursday and will be available for the Super 14 match against the Stormers at Newlands on Saturday.
