Man of the Match Alex Lozowski preferred to praise the collective after Saracens beat Northampton Saints 25-27.

The 23-year-old deserved the award for scoring 17 points in the victory and for his conversion from Marcelo Bosch’s try which proved to be the match-winning moment after Sarries rallied back from 13-points down to win.

Speaking after the game, Lozowski told the Saracens website how pleased he was to reward his teammates for their considerable efforts with his conversion, explaining:

“I was thinking that it was a great chance to reward the players who put in a lot of work to get back in that position. In the moment, you must flip it on its head and just enjoy it but I was still very relieved to see it go through.

“Rather than feeling nervous, I was just thinking what an opportunity it was now I’ve got this chance to win the game for the team.”

Fly-half Lozowski also praised the players who came off the bench to help Sarries overturn the deficit in the closing quarter of the match.

“It was amazing really, I think that with 20 minutes to go we were way behind and we were ‘things aren’t going our way, but the bench came on and made a huge difference for us and just gave us that belief that we could go on and win the game.”
