Lions wait on Janse van Rensburg

The Lions are waiting on news regarding centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg after he limped from the field on Saturday with a knee injury.

Janse van Rensburg, 22, had been in fine form over the past year and looked in pole position to wear South Africa’s 12 jersey this season.

However, he suffered an injury against the Stormers at Newlands and now looks set for a spell out, with IOL Sport reporting the centre has torn the collateral ligament in his knee and also damaged the posterior lateral corner in the same knee. He will see a specialist this week.

The Lions are set to continue with Harold Vorster in the midfield in Janse van Rensburg’s absence when they host the Jaguares this Friday.
