Lions switch for Bulls centre Burger Odendaal

The Lions have confirmed the signing of experienced inside centre Burger Odendaal, who joins them from South African rivals the Bulls.

Odendaal began his rugby union career at Monument High School in Krugersdorp and played at high school on the West Rand. He went on to represent the Lions at the various Youth Weeks (Grant Khomo and Craven Week), impressing as a youngster.

He joined the Bulls shortly after school and became a vital part of their side, even captaining them this year, and will be a welcome addition to the Lions team.

The 27-year-old has also played for Kubota Spears in Japan but made his name at the Bulls thanks to his hard-running style, leadership and solidity in midfield.
