Puma back-row Juan Miguel Leguizamón has joined French giants Stade Français, it was confirmed on Tuesday.
The former London Irish player leaves the club after three seasons at the Madejski Stadium and is set to link up with fellow Pumas Juan MartÃn Hernández, Ignacio Corleto, Rodrigo Roncero and Pedro Ledesma in Paris.
However, it has emerged that competition for places along with Leguizamón being without a European passport were factors in his exit.
“I've wanted to know what it would be to be in another team,” admitted the 25-year-old, who may be remembered for losing the ball midflight over the try line during a Heineken Cup match a year and a half ago, but will also be remembered for his bullocking runs and pace.
“I still had one year more with London Irish and, though the truth is that I was very comfortable, I had already wanted to change scenery, to see what goes on in another team.”
