The Crusaders are set to be without centre Casey Laulala when they take on the Blues in their vital Super 14 clash on Friday.

Laulala was taken off unconscious against the Chiefs on Friday after clashing heads with opposite number Dwayne Sweeney.

Laulala was immediately taken to hospital for assessment before rejoining his team-mates at their Hamilton hotel later in the day.

He will undergo an 'impact' test this week to assess whether there are any lingering effects and team management would be guided by medical opinion and how the player feels through the week.
