Well travelled South African wing Kobus van Wyk has signed for United Rugby Championship outfit Zebre Parma, it was announced on Wednesday.

Van Wyk, 30, shot to fame when he starred for the Hurricanes in Super Rugby and then made the move to the Premiership heavyweights in 2020.

Before that he impressed with the Stormers and Sharks in South Africa and will now get the chance to press on in the URC with the Italian outfit.

Van Wyk spent two seasons at Leicester but his second was hampered by injury and he left the now Premiership champions in March this year.

Found a new home

Now, however, he has found a new home and hopes to improve on Zebre Parma‘s dismal 2021/22 campaign when they finished bottom of the URC.

“I’m looking forward to starting next season,” the powerful and elusive winger told Zebre Parma’s official website, saying the move excites him.

“I can’t wait to meet the Zebre family, wear the club jersey, put myself to the test in this new adventure and contribute to the growth of the team.”
