Ospreys flanker Ryan Jones looks set to miss Wales opening two fixtures of the Six Nations after dislocating his thumb against Leicester.
Jones will be out for three to four weeks according to his club, definitely ruling him out of the opening fixture on February 2nd against Ireland.
Due to an injury crisis at lock, Jones had been expected to move into the second row, but interim head coach Rob Howley will now have to look elsewhere.
“Having suffered a compound dislocation of the thumb joint during Sunday's game, the initial estimate is that Ryan will be unavailable for around three to four weeks,” said Ospreys head physio Chris Towers.
“However, I'd stress that this is subject to further review in around seven to ten days.”
