Italy head coach Conor O’Shea has announced his 31-man squad for their upcoming Rugby World Cup campaign, which kicks off on September 22.
Captained by Sergio Parisse, the Azzurri are pooled with New Zealand, South Africa, Namibia and Canada at the tournament hosted in Japan.
Parisse is joined by Maxime Mbanda’, Sebastian Negri, Jake Polledri and Abraham Steyn as the back-row options with Dean Budd, Federico Ruzza, David Sisi and Alessandro Zanni the second-rows named.
Simone Ferrari, Andrea Lovotti, Tiziano Pasquali, Nicola Quaglio, Marco Riccioni, Federico Zani, Luca Bigi, Oliviero Fabiani and Leonardo Ghiraldini complete the pack as front-rowers included in the squad.
The three scrum-halves are Callum Braley, Guglielmo Palazzani and Tito Tebaldi while fly-halves Tommaso Allan and Carlo Canna are named.
In the centres there’s Tommaso Benvenuti, Michele Campagnaro and Luca Morisi and O’Shea rounds out his group with back three options of Mattia Bellini, Giulio Bisegni, Jayden Hayward, Matteo Minozzi and Edoardo Padovani, as they look to spring a shock at the tournament.
