Injury scare for Savea at training

All Blacks wing Julian Savea gave the world champions an injury scare ahead of Sunday's Test against Ireland in Dublin.
All Blacks wing Julian Savea gave the world champions an injury scare ahead of Sunday's Test against Ireland in Dublin.
The injury occurred when Savea went to gather a cross kick from Beauden Barrett during a match simulation exercise in the final training session of the week.
The 23-year-old's right knee twisted slightly and he immediately grabbed it in obvious discomfort.
Savea left the field and sat out the remainder of the session with an ice pack strapped to the injured knee.
Charles Piutau slotted in on the left wing for the last 15 minutes of the training session and if the injury is serious he will replace Savea in the starting line-up for his fifth straight start for the All Blacks.
