‘I’m not expecting anything’ – O’Mahony

Munster flanker Peter O’Mahony admits he is “not expecting anything” in terms of a call-up when the British and Irish Lions squad is named.

The 27-year-old Ireland international, who has been in excellent form over the past month, featured in Munster’s win over Ulster on Saturday.

He’s now done all he can before Wednesday’s announcement and when speaking to the42.ie the hard-working flank was keeping a cool head.

“Look, I have been happy with my rugby over the last few weeks. I was disappointed with the bad timing of my hamstring and stuff,” he said.

“Hopefully this club will have a couple of guys on it (the tour), fingers crossed we will have more than a couple but I am happy with the way I am playing at the moment, happy playing with Munster and getting my shot in the last few weeks with Ireland.”

He concluded: “I’m in a good place at the moment, I’m not expecting anything…just drive on next week.”
