Full-back Lee Byrne appears to have burned the bridge back to Test rugby after venting his frustration about being left out of the squad on Twitter.

The 33-year-old, who has been in good form for Clermont of late, was snubbed in favour of Leigh Halfpenny and Liam Williams for November.

And he quickly took to social media to express his feelings in a move that won't help his Test future, suggesting that selection wasn't based on form.

“Gutted to be overlooked by wales again obviously squad was picked on blooding players for WC not on form or playing ability #wtf,” Byrne tweeted.

The experienced former British and Irish Lion hasn't played for his country since running out in the 66-0 win over Fiji during the 2011 World Cup.
