Hogg thrilled to emulate O’Driscoll

Six Nations Player of the Championship winner Stuart Hogg described winning the award for a second time as "pretty special".
The Scotland full-back won the public vote following this year's tournament, following in the footsteps of his childhood hero Brian O'Driscoll in the process by winning the award on two occasions.
Hogg told Glasgow Warriors TV: “Last year I was the first Scotsman to do it. I’ve got a lot of time for Brian. He was my hero growing up. To do it twice like he did is pretty special.”
Hogg was quick to pay homage to his Scotland team-mates following a constructive tournament for Scotland, who picked up three wins over Ireland, Wales and Italy.
“It feels amazing. I’m chuffed to bits to win this award,” he said.
“But for me I played in a very good Scotland side over the past few weeks. It all starts up front. The forward pack got the backs on the front foot and thankfully we got a lot of ball out wide.
"I couldn’t have done it without my Scotland team-mates."
Hogg has now returned to training with Glasgow Warriors with the 2015 PRO12 champions desperate to make up points on the top four.
Glasgow currently sit seven points off the play-off places going into Saturday's game against Connacht and have a Champions Cup quarter-final on the horizon as well, away to defending champions Saracens.
“It’s all about doing well for Glasgow now. We’re in a good place in Europe and very much looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead," Hogg stated.
“In terms of the PRO12 we’re in a little bit of a sticky situation but we know the task in hand and we’re very much excited to go out there %u2028and hopefully get into the play-offs.”
