The Highlanders will be without Daniel Bowden for the Super 14 clash against the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday.
The fly-half is returning home after suffering concussion in his team's 17-47 loss to the Bulls in Pretoria last weekend.
Bowden will be out for the next two weeks and has been replaced by Highlanders wider training group member Blair Stewart, who has flown to South Africa to join the squad.
“It is unfortunate for Dan to be leaving us but head injuries have to be treated with caution and we have decided it would be best for him to go home to rest and recover,” said coach Glenn Moore.
