Wasps flanker James Haskell could be fit for England's forthcoming Six Nations game against Scotland at Murrayfield on March 8.

The back-row limped from the field 20 minutes into the first-half of the World Cup finalists' victory over France on Saturday, sparking concerns he would miss the Calcutta Cup clash.

However, Haskell's club side Wasps, where he has been hobbling around on Tuesday, are confident that the 22-year-old will have recovered in time for England's showdown against the Scots.

An MRI scan showed that Haskell has injured the posterior capsule on his left ankle following a tackle by hooker Dimitri Szarzewski.

Haskell will not be fit for Wasps' Guinness Premiership clash with Newcastle Falcons at Kingston Park on Friday.

However, he has begun a programme of intensive rehabilitation with the aim of being fit and available for selection for the Murrayfield match next month.

“With the help of the England medical staff and the Wasps' medical staff, I hope I'll be back and in contention for selection,” he said.
