Harlequins sign Scotland international on loan deal

Harlequins have signed Scotland international scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne on a loan deal from Scarlets for the rest of the 2018/19 season.

The Premiership club bring in Hidalgo-Clyne as cover for Charlie Mulchrone, who was last week ruled out for the rest of the season with a head injury sustained in Harlequins’ match against Gloucester.

Worcester Warriors‘ Luke Baldwin had joined the club only on a month’s loan to initially replace Mulchrone because he is cup-tied for Harlequins’ Challenge Cup quarter-final at Sixways so Hidalgo-Clyne will now be at The Stoop for the remainder of the season.

Head of rugby Paul Gustard said: “Sam is a fantastic scrum-half and we are very pleased to have been able to get him on board with us for the remainder of the season.

“I know he has the personality and energy to fit in very quickly and easily into our squad and I look forward to him contributing as we look to end the season on a high.”
