Grice banned for throwing gumshield at referee
Grenoble number eight Rory Grice has been handed a nine-week suspension after throwing his gumshield at a referee.
The incident took place in last weekend's Top 14 clash against Bordeaux-Bègles.
Grice appeared before an LNR disciplinary committee on Wednesday where the nine-week ban was handed down, despite the club in a statement suggesting the incident was inadvertent.
As a result he will miss the Grenoble's end of season run-in, with the club currently in sixth place and chasing a play-off spot ahead of the final two rounds of the competition.
The 26-year-old New Zealander joined Grenoble in 2014, after three years playing for Waikato.
