Glasgow Warriors have announced that two of Scotland's brightest young talents have signed professional contracts with the club.
Flank duo Chris Kinloch and Richie Gray both impressed Head Coach Sean Lineen during the side's pre-season and have been handed deals.
Kinloch is an experienced international Sevens player while powerful nineteen-year-old Richie Gray is expected to add some weight to the Magners League side's back-row options.
“Chris impressed us whilst on tour in France with his attitude and his hunger. He also scored a couple of nice tries,” Lineen said.
“He is raw but I think he can develop here with us.”
“We don't produce many of these guys (6ft 8in Gray) in Scotland. He needs to be in a professional environment to realise his potential. He's a big man.
“He can be an exceptional player if he maintains his attitude. We had a fitness session yesterday and he proved that he's got what it takes.”
Meanwhile, Gray admitted his shock at what he sees as an earlier opportunity at professionalism than he'd expected.
“I was in the National Academy last year and had another season to go in my contract,” he said.
“But I got a surprise call from Sean Lineen last Wednesday asking me if I was keen to come along and train with Glasgow full-time.
“It's a fantastic opportunity for me to take my game to the next level.”
