Gary Graham inks three-year extension at Newcastle

Gary Graham will be a Newcastle Falcons player for at least the next three seasons after signing a newly-extended deal with the club.

The 27-year-old Scotland flanker scored five tries in his 14 games this past season as the unbeaten Falcons returned to the top flight at the first attempt.

Graham was obviously delighted to have inked a new contract at the Kingston Park outfit as they now prepare to return to the Premiership next season.

“I just love it here,” he beamed.

“I was brought up around the club with my dad being a Falcons player when I was growing up, it’s always had a special place for me and it’s great to have the new contract sorted.

“It’s a strange time for us in a way with having such a long gap between seasons, but the boys are putting the time to good use and making sure we go in with a full tank when the Premiership starts again for us on November 20.

“We’ve got a load of great players in our squad who can really make an impact, and we’re looking forward to rattling a few cages when next season eventually gets underway.”

Director of rugby Dean Richards said: “Gary gives us a real edge around the field, and he must be horrible to play against.

“He throws absolutely everything into it, has a major impact on things and is adding new strings to his game all the time.

“He’s also a great character around the place and we love having him here, so it’s fantastic that he has committed to us for the long term.”
