The Falcons will change their home ground for the fourth time in seven years as they return to the Barnard Stadium in Kempton Park as from next year.
Afrikaans Sunday newspaper Sondag reported that the Falcons had taken the decision this week to return to Kempton Park, as the infrastructure is better there than their current home at the Bosman Stadium in Brakpan.
According to the Falcons president SJ de Beer, a contract still has to be signed but negotiations are at an extended phase with all parties being involved.
“Everyone is happy with what we have discussed thus far,” De Beer told Sondag.
De Beer said the geographical location of Barnard stadium is the main reason for the move.
“Most of the Falcons supporters come from the east. Kempton Park is also closer to the airport and to many of our spectators.”
De Beer confirmed that the Falcons now will have to pay for the upkeep of the stadium grounds, which was not the case at Bosman stadium.
