Edinburgh lose Pierre Schoeman to injury

Edinburgh have been hit with another injury blow after prop Pierre Schoeman was ruled out for up to six weeks.

The loosehead prop suffered a knee injury in last Saturday’s PRO14 win over Connacht at The Sportsground.

Schoeman was replaced by Boan Venter midway through the first half, but Edinburgh had enough to grind out a narrow 15-14 victory which keeps faint hopes of clinching a Champions Cup slot for next season alive.

Edinburgh said in a statement the 26-year-old “will be subject to the ongoing care and assessment of the Edinburgh Rugby medical team”.
