Defence guru Joe Worsley joins Castres
Former England flanker Joe Worsley has joined Top 14 outfit Castres as defence coach on a deal until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
Worsley, who earned 78 caps for the Red Rose, carved out a reputation as being one of the best defenders in the game and he has taken those skills into coaching.
After retiring from playing in 2011, the 42-year-old initially joined Bordeaux-Begles as their defence specialist before becoming interim head coach in 2018 following the departure of Rory Teague.
The former back-rower left UBB at the end of last season and joined the Georgian national team for the Rugby World Cup as technical advisor.
Castres have duly snapped up the services of Worsley as the 2017/18 champions attempt to improve on their position in the league table. They currently reside in 11th place, although Mauricio Reggiardo’s men are just three points off third.
