Daly enjoying being back at centre

Wasps centre Elliot Daly has admitted he is pleased to be back in his favoured position after playing for England on the wing this year.

Daly started against both Northampton and Bristol in the number 13 jersey in recent weeks and performed well in a star-studded line-up.

Playing alongside the likes of Kurtley Beale, Danny Cipriani and Willie le Roux is clearly a positive as Daly flourishes alongside them.

“I’m enjoying being back in the centres, it’s just a case of finding that form again back in my usual position,” he told Premiership Rugby.

“We always play the same way as a team but obviously players play slightly differently.

“Kurtley Beale is more of a running threat and may take it to the line more so I need to be more aware and closer to him for that offload.

“Whereas Jimmy (Gopperth) will take it to the line and pull it out the back so it is just a case of knowing who is around you.

“It was great to play alongside Kurtley and long may it continue.”

Wasps are currently top of the Premiership standings with just two rounds of the regular-season to play and in-form England international Daly admits lifting the domestic trophy would be a dream come true.

“It would be amazing to reach the Premiership Final but obviously we have got to get through the semi-finals first,” he added.

“We have some big games left in the regular season first but it would be huge for us to get there after coming sixth last year, it would be a big step for the club.”
