World Rugby has confirmed that Russia will take its place in next year’s Rugby World Cup after appeals by Spain and Romania were rejected.
Romania and Spain have lodged appeals against the ruling earlier this month that Russia would qualify for RWC 2019 at Romania’s expense.
Russia will qualify for Rugby World Cup 2019 as Europe 1, not Romania, and join Ireland, Scotland, Japan and the play-off winner in Pool A.
