Both players recently partook in this season's memorable Tri-Nations series with the latter still baring fresh bruises from the Brisbane battle.

Yet according to the domestic holders' boss Michael Chieka, the 56-times capped tighthead and flank Elsom are to receive little downtime before donning their new provincial jersey.

Van der Linde was presented to warm applause from the RDS crowd on Friday before watching his Magners League team-mates run riot against a below-par Edinburgh.

However, the hard-running Elsom has yet to arrive in Dublin after playing for Australia in Saturday's tournament finale.
