Cheika plans to change entire XV

Australia boss Michael Cheika was happy to just pick up a win in his side's opening game against Fiji on Wednesday.

Each of the other sides in Pool A had played before the Wallabies got underway in Cardiff.

"We were very pleased to have a win in our first game. I know the boys have been waiting to play for a long time and the level of physicality and work was really positive for us," Cheika said.

"The fact we haven't played a lot of rugby in the last period was something we had to come to terms with in the competition very quickly.

Cheika opted to use David Pocock at number eight and praised the two-try forward for his efforts.

"He worked hard and was in the contest a fair bit. He was in the tackle contest area a lot," stated Cheika.

"It's obviously a strength of his so we want to try and put him there or thereabouts so he can have a bit more of a roving mission in defence. But he also did his business well in attack, too.

"He had his technical stuff right. Both himself and (Michael) Hooper were very good around there and their work rate off the ball."

The Australia boss revealed that he plans to change his entire starting XV for Australia's next game against Uruguay.

"I will more than likely change everyone in the starting team to get everyone a touch of the ball. That's important in this tournament," he said.

"I'm pretty sure England play weekend to weekend and we don't have that advantage of playing each weekend, we have to play two games in five days, so it's very important to use the squad."
