Champions Cup: Antoine Dupont misses training, Kotaro Matsushima out ‘several weeks’

Toulouse may have to try and overturn the five-point deficit against Ulster at Kingspan Stadium without the services of scrum-half Antoine Dupont.

The talismanic French number nine was missing from Toulouse’s training on Tuesday, with the club keeping very quiet on any possible reason for the absence. Coach Ugo Mola refused to answer any questions on the matter.

Meanwhile, Clermont and Japan full-back Kotaro Matsushima definitely will not be helping his side chase down a 19-point deficit against Leicester at Welford Road.

Matsushima damaged his AC joint in a heavy contact early in his side’s defeat on Sunday, with Clermont saying he would be out for several weeks, and possibly the rest of the season.

Number eight Fritz Lee is also a doubt, having received 15 stitches in a head wound near his temple caused by an on-field collision.
