The Kings' hopes of avoiding Super Rugby relegation have been dealt a massive blow with the news that fly-half Demetri Catrakilis has been sidelined by injury.

Catrakilis, who was the Kings' top points scorer in their debut season, will miss the second promotion/relegation game against the Lions in Johannesburg after sustaining a shoulder injury.

Kings Director of Rugby Alan Solomons confirmed that Catrakilis would be out for between four to six weeks.

“Demetri has sustained a similar injury to that of Steven Sykes earlier this season, which will see him out for between four and six weeks, which means he will not be up for contention for the second promotion relegation game,” said Solomons.

Catrakilis came off in the 57th minute of the game against the Lions on Friday, which the Lions won 26-19.
