Bundee Aki hearing set for Monday

Ireland centre Bundee Aki will attend a disciplinary hearing after making a dangerous tackle during his side’s Rugby World Cup match against Samoa in Fukuoka on Saturday.

Aki received a red card for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.13 (dangerous tackle) during the Pool A encounter for a high tackle in the 29th minute on Samoa fly-half Ulupano Seuteni.

A World Rugby statement read: “The player will attend a hearing before an independent Judicial Committee chaired by Adam Casselden SC (Australia) joined by former international coach Frank Hadden (Scotland) and former referee Valeriu Toma (Romania).

“The hearing will take place in Tokyo at 19:30 on Monday, 14 October.”
