Brad Mooar ‘torn’ between Scarlets and All Blacks
Scarlets head coach Brad Mooar admits that he is undecided as to whether he should remain with the Welsh region or join the All Blacks coaching staff.
The Llanelli-based outfit confirmed on Saturday that they have been approached by New Zealand Rugby over potentially negotiating a release for the ex-Crusaders coach.
New All Blacks boss Ian Foster, who has taken over the role from Steve Hansen, wants Mooar to join his backroom team.
The 45-year-old only took charge of the Scarlets recently and concedes that it is an exceptionally difficult decision to make.
“I am torn, yes, this is tough and both options are outstanding,” he told reporters. “It would be a hell of a proud moment, it’s humbling to be in the conversation.
“The question has been asked, we are grown adults and are having responsible conversations and things will pan out.
Can't blame Brad Mooar if he takes an All Blacks' role.
Who wouldn't.
Also shows how well the Scarlets identify coaching talent.

“It (Scarlets) is a wonderful place to be here and we are enjoying a great rise. The way we are playing the game and the fan base is bigger than one person and it’s an exciting time.”
Mooar could potentially accept the job offer with New Zealand and remain with the Scarlets until the end of the season, but he does not believe that it would derail the Welsh region.
“It would not be difficult at all, the focus will remain,” he added. “We have set a vision and are working together and our noses are in the same direction.
“We are on. I am proud to be here. I am here and we are doing a great job with the group and they are working for each other and it’s great.”
