Bonus-point win for Glasgow

Glasgow bounced back from last week's tough loss at Munster with a comprehensive 45-10 win over Zebre at Scotstoun on Friday.

Five-pointers from Nick Grigg, Peter Murchie, Rob Harley, Matt Fagerson, Sam Johnson and Matt Smith (2) saw them claim five points.

Zebre's try scorers were Kayle Van Zyl and Kurt Baker as they couldn't make it three PRO12 wins from three matches in a poor effort.

Glasgow were immediately on the front foot and crossed after 11 minutes when Grigg hit a superb angle, Horne's extras making it 7-0.

The lead was up to 14 seven minutes later when a powerful maul led to the ball going right and Murchie backed himself for the score.

Glasgow were now cruising and moved one step closer to the bonus-point when Harley crossed on 28 minutes following a good breakout from centre Johnson. Horne knocked over the conversion to make it 21-0 before half-an-hour had been played. Zebre appeared set for a hiding.

So it proved as the fourth try came on 30 minutes when a two on one saw number eight Fagerson go over as the Warriors went 28-0 up.

The second period started in much better fashion for Zebre as they enjoyed most of the possession and territory until the 50th minute. However they could not get on the scoreboard and one sensed it was only a matter of time before the Warriors would add their fifth score.

Rory Hughes was denied the try on 56 minutes due to blocking from replacement lock Brian Alainu’uese as the score stayed at 28-0.

But then came that score when Chris Fusaro set up Johnson, who wasn't held, as he got to his feet before grounding, making it 35-0.

Replacement scrum-half Smith made it 40-0 soon after following a solid maul from the Warriors as their focus was now on hitting 50 points. However, the Italians refused to roll over and finally got points to their name on 67 minutes when Van Zyl crossed for an unconverted try.

Glasgow thought they had the final say when a ball ripped from Alainu'uese's grasp found Smith who dotted down for his brace, but replacement Baker finished off a breakout from Zebre to give them a consolation score at the death.
